With 9 core team ┬аmembers, we have started this project called┬атАЬBaakhan Nyane waaтАЭ┬аwhich in Newa language means: тАЬCome listen to the storyтАЭ.┬аBaakhan Nyane waa┬аis a volunteer led and run project, through which we intend to document, collect as well as continue the culture of storytelling that once prevailed in our culture. Kathmandu valley and the Newars have such elaborate culture and heritage that is on the verge of going forgotten and faded out. In order to share┬а the stories of our culture and heritage on to younger generation and to continue the culture of connecting people through stories that matter to them,┬аBaakhan Nyane waa┬аattempts to create a platform where the story telling can take place. The team of┬аBaakhan Nyane waa┬аhas been organizing one story telling event in a month, in different traditional settlements of Kathmandu Valley, about the legends and myths and stories behind the festivals, name of the places and folk tales. We have so far covered four stories in first season in 2016-17 and finished 4 stories in season 2.
